Shuttle Times:

Hilton 1:45, Quality Inn 2:00
Hilton 3:30, Quality Inn 3:45
Hilton 5:15, Quality Inn 5:30

If anybody wants to drive to the house but take the shuttle back, thats an option too.  Everyone is staying at these two hotels and they’re a mile apart- there are numerous ride options back to your car sunday AM.

The shuttle wont stick around for more than 5 minutes– please be outside waiting if you want to hop on it.  Its a 12-passenger extended van of some variety.

If you want to participate in our numerous GAMES that will be happening:
please drive yourself to arrive early enough…  
games will take place from 1130-330.

“our wedding reception weekend”

our wedding / reception will take place over the weekend of June 21st…  at an estate in coxsackie ny
it is called Windrift Hall…  the property is approximately 1hr 45min north of the northern nj area

          Wedding Reception Schedule:

• Saturday Day – Activities
• Saturday Night – Adults Only Wedding Reception
• Sunday Noon – Brunch before folks head home

SATURDAY Arrival/Departure Times:

 “Cocktail hour” will be from 4-6pm.
Anybody that wants to spend a bit more time with us – to relax & enjoy the property – may arrive a bit earlier if they like.  Please try to arrive no later than about 615pm.

Most importantly:  The “feature presentation” of the evening will occur after dark.  There will be a production of some variety, re: our vows/ st john ceremony/ etc., after sunset (approximately 845).  Please be sure to schedule your evening around this (& dessert service) which should conclude by 945pm.

Obviously the party will continue on into the night (staying at one of the hotels we have reserved and using the shuttle is recommended) and we’d love to have as many folks as possible stay as late as they can.

There will be shuttle service between the two hotels listed below & our wedding venue. Shuttle Operating Times will be posted soon.

Both of the below hotels should extend to you free cancellation terms as part of this block.

Free Hot & Cold Breakfast.
Two Double Beds or One King for $79/night.
Cathy & I STRONGLY recommend the rooms with two beds regardless of number of occupants… these rooms are noticeably larger.  The King-bed room is significantly smaller, and it definitely FEELS small.
By far the top rated hotel under $100, we toured it, and it is nice (one of the nicest Quality Inns we’ve been in)…  but this is clearly more like a 2 ½ star level type property, and the Garden Inn is safely in the 3-star level.

Breakfast buffet is $11.95 pp, and is from 630am-Noon on Sat & Sun.

Completely renovated in 2010, this was the cleanest & nicest hotel of the many we visited.  The whole place feels VERY “New” – and the lobby is very comfortable, with lots of seating, wifi, a fireplace and free welcome beverages/ snacks (during certain hours).
Also- the hotel operates a free, 24-hour, airport shuttle (which may be helpful to anyone flying in).  They will also shuttle folks to points within a 3-mile radius for free.
TripAdvisor: the #3 ranked hotel in Albany, 87% recommended, 4.5/5 stars.

RECEPTION ATTIRE:

“Garden Party Attire” Similar to Cocktail Attire, it seems…  but a bit less formal & more fun and light for the summer.  Basically- no jeans, no shorts, no sneakers.  Ideally- ladies could wear summer dresses, and boys could be in dress pants, shoes & shirt… jackets & ties are totally optional.

Shoes—  ladies: not only is the party outdoors, it is outdoors on a hill, with rocky stairs, and a gravel driveway.  Flats, fancy flip flops, sandals, etc.  are a must.

Also–  for wedding party folks and those with us from the night before: Be sure to have casual clothes for saturday daytime activities, games and hanging out.  We can all get into our fancier wedding clothes, and “wedding mode”, in the late afternoon/early evening.

SUNDAY BRUNCH:

A very casual get-together for whoever stayed the night on Saturday.  EVERYONE is invited!

Saturday is sure to be a very late night for many of us… so I expect getting together on Sunday to be a bit on the late side (maybe 1130-ish?)

It will be really simple, but the company will be excellent!   A brunch of some variety (bagels, pastries, reception leftovers ??) will be procured at some point, and we would LOVE for all those still in town to attend. This will also be a great opportunity to take advantage of the huge property we’ve rented!

TRANSPORTATION:

Please let me know as soon as possible if you need help with transportation. We are happy to help find a ride for folks who need them from the north jersey area to Coxsackie.  Or- if you considering public transportation and need help planning that- please give me a call.

NOTE: For anyone that might be flying, the closest airport is Albany (ALB).  There is a FREE SHUTTLE that runs 24/7, between the Albany airport and the Hilton Garden Inn that we have reserved a room block with for our wedding.  (and- there is the shuttle we have provided that can transport you to & from the hotel on the day of the wedding reception)

(& there will be driving directions, for those going directly to the house, included with the formal invites–
if you are taking your own car from the NJ area, and are interested in a scenic drive, take route 385, it is a nice / very pretty drive)

PARKING:

The wedding reception is at a private home.  There is limited parking.  To be able to fit everyone’s cars safely we hope to average at least 3 people per vehicle.  Please carpool or take the shuttle if possible.

We will provide transportation from a nearby hotel to the wedding venue for those who let us know ahead of time they’d like to use it.  Return transport at set times will obviously also be provided.

CHILDREN:

We love all of the children of our friends & family. Unfortunately, (due to limited space, safety concerns (large pond on the property), and the hope that all of you over-worked parents can have a night off) we’ve made this an adults-only reception.

Any kind of music you like, we’ll try to fit it in.
(We would particularly love to know the following:
“I will dance if you play ______”)

We planned on this taking place over a year ago, in the virgin islands, with both of our families there to celebrate with us.  But, this proved to be too difficult to make happen.  So we have re-scheduled and are exchanging vows this december in St John! (with a handful of folks from our wedding party)

This will ONLY be the exchange of vows (the marriage)–  our WEDDING / RECEPTION will follow shortly after in when the weather gets a bit warmer (june  21, 2014) at a nearby location (Coxsackie, NY) with all of our wonderful friends & family there to share it with us !

Hey all…  here are some engagement party details:

The party will be OUTDOORS at the Parsells home @ 406 Marvin Ave, Hackensack…  RAIN OR SHINE   (we have a canopy up in case of showers, which has been tested in the rain)

The party is on Saturday, August 13th…….   It will start at around 3/ 330pm, and will continue on until LATE night………     Friends, and folks able to stay out late, may want to arrive a bit later (5 / 530-ish ?)

Come hungry…  there will be lots of food and then a bit later, some great desserts! ———-   (PLEASE do not bring any food or drinks…..  we will have more than enough!…  just come and have fun…)

(…  and …  We are trying to have a zero landfill / low impact party— so we will not have anything at the party that can’t either be recycled or composted… no individual sized drinks…  & as much re-usable stuff as possible!)

Note:  there will be an open bar…..  if you plan on drinking, please make designated driver arrangements ahead of time so that we all have a lot of SAFE fun.

take 17 South to the new Essex Street exit- turn left (then see below)…  or… take Forest Avenue – which turns into Maywood Avenue-  to Essex Street… turn left…  (then see below)

from the west:
take route 80 east to Exit 63 (rt 17/ rochelle park/ paramus)- turn left at the end of the ramp, then right onto Essex Street @ traffic light/Hess Station (then see below)
